Safety FAIL

You know how we are super uber safety conscious 'round here?

umm......
Please remember that the "chest" clip is what keeps your child from flying out of his 5 point harness and it belongs in the super safe zone about level with the arm pits. And moms, if the family is in a hurry and Dad helps Junior into the car, check the car seat before you snap your cute picture of riding off to visit friends.

LOL Yep, there's the evidence right there! Those chest clips never seem to stay put anyway... at least not the ones on my kids' carseats when they were younger. Smooth move Dad! (My husband is terrible with making sure they are using booster seats now. Arg.)

You're safer than I am - I didn't know the "safety zone". :)

Um, my son used a similar car seat for years and I never knew about that safety zone. Guess, I share this fail with your husband, lol.

Stopping by from Myra's blog, glad to share Friday Fails with you, :).

Yep, I'm always having to adjust my son's because it migrates south.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. :) Just yesterday, I was going from Walmart to the Dollar Tree (in the same plaza) and I forgot to buckle my three year old in. Ugh. Fail for me too!

The government should pay me for my public safety announcement! Seriously though, having the clip in the safety zone and the straps securely tightened so that there is one fingertip between the clip and your child's chest keeps your child securely fastened in the seat in the event of a crash.
No, it's not the most comfortable way to ride but it is the safest according to you know....people...safety people.

Alyssa eventually figured out how to push the button when she was little...she was too mechanical! Drove me nuts!

Oh, thank you so much for writing this. I resist the urge to call people out ALL THE TIME when they post pictures of their kids with it in the wrong spot.
