Our Budding Maestro--Wordless/ful and Special Exposure Wednesday

He is gifted. He has no models at home. I would love to play a musical instrument but I have rhythm issues. And Dave...well, I think he aspired to play the guitar when he was younger...Jack has a natural gift for music. Percussion instruments were his favorite for the longest time but he has recently branched out to the lap harp, guitar, and keyboard. It's not random banging of the keys either. It's purposeful. He sits there tapping the keys and he'll lean in to listen to the sounds like he's just absorbing it all. It seems that each time he sits at the keyboard he expands his playing a bit. Maybe he's composing his first symphony?

Awww that's pretty awesome. Marie..get one of those little books that have simple songs and then you can show Jack.
I had Joey and a former baby we had..in Kinder music...they LOVED It...
expensive but fun. They accepted Joey into the program..and I got to put him in with kids younger which was more appropriate.
Joey too LOVES music.he asked for a violin for Christmas

Music is such a great form of expression and such a healer. I like to see kids doing something with it.

That's great that Jack has this interest. There are so many ways to help him develop this talent - I am sure you are aware of music therapy and the Listening Program and many more.

Gorgeous - Ashlea really loves music too. I think next time we might need to see a little video though...so we can hear his symphony!

That's fantastic! My little girl likes to play the keyboard too, but she's at the straight-up banging stage.

I look forward to seeing him play at Carnegie Hall. What? It's okay to dream big!

What a wonderful gift to have...perhaps he will delight you with his composition someday!! :)

Music is so important! Elizabeth loves it too although so far she's more a dancer than a music creator - maybe Jack can write something for her and she can dance...

My almost-four-year-old niece just started learning the recorder; turns out that's a great first wind instrument. If Jack's going to write symphonies he'll need a wind section :)

So we'll have Ali and Joey on strings. Mary's four year old niece doing the wind instruments. Amber's little girl can do the keyboarding and Jack can do the percussion. We'll have ourselves an orchestra in no time!!!
I promise to get some video on Jack at the keyboard. :)
